NIA XI’s overall project implementation performance hits 97% as of April 2021 for CY 2019 projects; or 92 are finished out of 98 projects. Under CY 2020, 65 projects are completed and 19 on-going achieving 86% completion.
For CY 2017 and 2018 projects, 100% were already accomplished.
These updates came up in a coordination meeting on May 6, 2021 called by the Construction Management Section (CMS), spearheaded by Engr. Dexter F. Tinapay. Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol underscored in his opening speech the office’s commitments and to fulfill it by supporting each other. He also said that those in the ground must not hesitate to open up to the management for any concerns they encounter so the agency can immediately act on it.
Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Managers and some of their key personnel attended the meeting who reported their status on project construction for both physical and financial accomplishment; after which discussions ensued on issues that lag implementation.
Ninety-eight projects for construction under CY 2019 have a total amount of Php 1.3B. The on-going six projects are in the national systems in Davao del Norte IMO, to which the contractors had to suspend their works to give way to the scheduled water delivery. These have resumed since early April and is on schedule based on the revised target of completion. The IMO committed to finish the project by June 2021.
On the other hand, IMOs report that CY 2020 projects are on schedule for the targeted completion on June 2021. The overall allocation of 84 CY 2020 projects for implementation is Php 1.1B.
