TRAINING OF TRAINERS ON FMS AND LITERACY FOR IDOS AND SELECTED SWRFTS

          As part of the Institutional Development Program, a Training of Trainers on Financial Management System (FMS) and Literacy for Institutional Development Officers and Selected SWRFTS spearheaded by the Institutional Development Section (IDS) which they hold on January 22-24, 2020 at the Mindanao Training Center (MTC), NIA Regional Office XI compound, Bolton St., Davao City.

          Facilitated by Victoria Gatmaitan as the training’s main resource person, speakers from the NIA XI Finance Division of the regional office were also tapped namely Blessy Taghoy, Cristy Marie Cajote and Regie Albelda as lecturers, all are Certified Public Accountants by profession.

          There were 45 attendees in this training composed of the NIA XI Managers, the Resource Speakers, IDS Staff and the Participants who are IDOs, SWRFTs and those staff working directly with the Irrigators Associations.

          Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol in his inspirational speech during the seminar, at the outset recognized some of the institutional workers who have been with the agency for some time before they took the training while others were so young employees of NIA XI to benefit this training. At any rate, he stressed the importance of knowledge and skills of FMS in the performance of functions and that he encouraged them to stay with their commitments with the agency for the opportunities that may land them in better positions.

         A pre-Training Knowledge Inventory (PTKI) on topics most relevant to FMS was conducted before the training proper to determine level of awareness or stock knowledge of participants where the participants showed interests in the topics as well as its importance.Post Test was given by the facilitators as Post –Training Knowledge Inventory (PTKI) which the participants found the seminar so useful that would help them improve their performance.

         Trainings topics included Financial Literacy; CashFlow and Forcasting; and, Financial Planning and Budgeting which are very necessary for the IDOs and field implementers to teach the IAs and emphasize the importance of budgeting and to have value financial plan and essential in deciding fund allocation for the IA to become financially stable.
