NIA XI REGIONAL OFFICE AIMS FOR MORE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

Working under the new normal, the office managed to kick-start four project constructions after the contract signing which took place on March 17, 2021. Present during the signing were Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol, Administrative, Finance Division Manager Joel R. Soriano, the contractors, alongside Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Secretariat who facilitated the event held at the RM’s Office, NIA XI, Davao City.

NIA XI INAUGURATES PHP 22 MILLION LASANG RIVER IRRIGATION SYSTEM (RIS) AUTOMATED DIVERSION DAM

The NIA Region XI, Davao del Norte Irrigation Management Office (IMO) launched an Automated Diversion Dam of Lasang RIS on February 25, 2021 at the dam site located in Brgy. Manay, Panabo City. After the blessing and the cutting of ribbons, Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol led the ceremonial turnover of the symbolic key to Lasang Chapter Federation of Irrigators' Association (LACFIA) President Mr. Marcelo F. Manua representing the farmer beneficiaries.

NIA XI TURNS OVER PHP 8.7 MILLION CARP-FUNDED NEW BOHOL CIP

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) XI, Davao del Norte Irrigation Management Office (IMO) held a turnover ceremony of the New Bohol Communal Irrigation Project (CIP) at Purok 1, Barangay New Bohol, New Corella on February 25, 2021 to New Bohol Irrigator’s Association (NBIA) with 24 farmer members.

The event commenced with the blessing and cutting of ribbons at the dam site followed by the turn over rites, signing of documents and acceptance of the newly built irrigation system.

TRAINING OF TRAINERS ON FMS AND LITERACY FOR IDOS AND SELECTED SWRFTS

          As part of the Institutional Development Program, a Training of Trainers on Financial Management System (FMS) and Literacy for Institutional Development Officers and Selected SWRFTS spearheaded by the Institutional Development Section (IDS) which they hold on January 22-24, 2020 at the Mindanao Training Center (MTC), NIA Regional Office XI compound, Bolton St., Davao City.

          Davao del Sur. On February 5, 2020, NIA XI Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol and his team led by Supervising Engineer Ryan G. Pichon of the Planning and Design Section of NIA Regional Office XI; Senior Engineer Gil G. Valdez and Institutional Development Officer Analean Amor B. Manongtong of the Davao del Sur IMO with Peter Humes, Project Manager of Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) who upon its request conducted a site investigation and site validation at Sitio Lafla, Barangay Kimlawes, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

RCIA XI DONATES 400 SACKS OF RICE TO DAVAO DEL SUR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

         DAVAO CITY.  In its two-day Rice Relief Operations, the Region XI NIS & CIS Confederation of Irrigators Associations (RCIA XI) led by its President Mr. Saturnino D. Simbajon with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Region XI under the leadership of Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol distributes 400 sacks of Rice to about 4,000 earthquake victims of Davao del Sur on February 20-21, 2020.

NIA XI GAD CONDUCTS GENDER SENSITIVITY TRAINING AND GENDER FAIR LANGUAGE

NIA Regional office XI Gender And Development (GAD) Focal system has just concluded the training on Gender Sensitivity and Gender Fair Language in two(2) batches, the first batch held on September 25, 2018 and succeeded by the second (2) batch on September 26, 2018 held at the NIA XI Conference room, Davao City attended by a total of 81 participants composed of the employees in the regional office.

RECOGNIZING TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE OF TAGBOA – COCORNON CIS REHAB PROJECT IN REGION XI

          Before the rehab project, farmers in Tagboa-Cocornon CIS in Lupon, Davao Oriental has an Intake Structure that has been diverting irrigation water to rice farms at Barangays Tagboa and Cocornon, Lupon, Davao Oriental since 2011 tapping Sumlog River. Despite the functionality of the intake, the farmers hope for a more concrete and stable diversion structure. The coming of the rehabilitation project tailored pieces of the farmers' dream for the building of a dam.
