Davao del Sur. On February 5, 2020, NIA XI Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol and his team led by Supervising Engineer Ryan G. Pichon of the Planning and Design Section of NIA Regional Office XI; Senior Engineer Gil G. Valdez and Institutional Development Officer Analean Amor B. Manongtong of the Davao del Sur IMO with Peter Humes, Project Manager of Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) who upon its request conducted a site investigation and site validation at Sitio Lafla, Barangay Kimlawes, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

DAVAO CITY. In its two-day Rice Relief Operations, the Region XI NIS & CIS Confederation of Irrigators Associations (RCIA XI) led by its President Mr. Saturnino D. Simbajon with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Region XI under the leadership of Regional Manager Jimmy L. Apostol distributes 400 sacks of Rice to about 4,000 earthquake victims of Davao del Sur on February 20-21, 2020.

Before the rehab project, farmers in Tagboa-Cocornon CIS in Lupon, Davao Oriental has an Intake Structure that has been diverting irrigation water to rice farms at Barangays Tagboa and Cocornon, Lupon, Davao Oriental since 2011 tapping Sumlog River. Despite the functionality of the intake, the farmers hope for a more concrete and stable diversion structure. The coming of the rehabilitation project tailored pieces of the farmers' dream for the building of a dam.
