NIA XI EMBARKS ON ADMINISTRATIVE & FINANCE PROCESS WALKTHROUGH

The Administrative and Finance team of the Regional Office (RO) in Davao Oriental IMO, engaged in a fruitful and thorough discussion of existing policies, procedures, and best practices, sharing insights and addressing issues and concerns.

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Regional Office in Region XI has successfully conducted a comprehensive review of its administrative and finance processes, aimed at optimizing operations, enhancing transparency, and driving organizational growth. Led by AFD Manager Taghoy, the initiative aimed to streamline workflows, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversight agencies, and identify areas for improvement.
The review, held on May 9, 2024, at the Davao Oriental IMO and May 10, 2024, at the Davao de Oro IMO, was facilitated by the staff from the Administrative and Finance Unit, led by Financial Planning Specialist B Christy Marie C. Evangelista and Administrative Services Officer IV Ana Liza C. Dinopol. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for June 5, 2024, at the Davao del Norte IMO and June 7, 2024, at the Davao del Sur IMO.

The Regional Office Administrative Section Head Ana Liza Dinopol with Jessi Ann Nakol Aligato, along with Finance Section's Christy Marie Evangelista and her team, Maricel Cabus, Regie Albelda , Rei Leo Gomez, Aida Jaron, and Cesrita Charm Jimenez; together with Encarnacion G. Recla, the Administrative and Finance Section Head, and Engr. Elmer Joseph S. Coronel, Engineering and Operations Head from Davao Oriental IMO.

The comprehensive review covered a wide range of administrative and finance topics, ensuring a holistic approach to process improvement. Key areas of focus included Leave Administration, Records Keeping, 201 File Management, and Daily Time Records in the administrative sector, as well as Disbursement, Budgeting, Cash Management, Payroll Benefits and Administration, Financial Reporting, and Compliance with COA and IAS Findings in the finance sector.

Admin Section Head Ana Liza Dinopol emphasized the importance of consistently following standard procedures in carrying out their duties and responsibilities and highlighted the necessity of maintaining accountability in the execution of their functions.

The Regional Office Administrative and Finance Sections participated in the exit conference alongside Lina B. Halasan, Cashier B, and Normalyn Canonoy, IRMDO C from Davao de Oro IMO.
The success of this initiative is crucial for both personnel and finance management as  NIA remains steadfast in its mission to promote sustainable agricultural development through the provision of irrigation services. This comprehensive administrative and finance process review is a significant milestone in the agency's journey toward operational excellence and a testament to its commitment to continuous improvement.
